Maaa...maaahhh

Gus is totally on to me.

Since starting his new school, I have been on a mission of information gathering... who do you eat lunch with? What projects did you work on? Who are you meeting? Although I'm wishing I was a fly on the wall, Gus is not feeling so forthcoming. He finally told me a story, spontaneously, and I was asking follow-up questions. Apparently, I asked the same question twice.

Gus: Maa...maaahhh (said with total exasperation), I tell you ONE time, not TWO times. Just ONE time.
Me: Oh....did I already ask you that?
Gus: Yes!

Hey, looks like you're up late too. I just started a new blog. You're my inspiration for it. I'll show it to you sometime.

ah, yes, more proof to substantiate my theory that the "first 20 minutes are golden." When my kids started school my highest priority (with a few exceptions) was to be the one who picked them up from school. Why? Because it didn't take me long to figure out if I didn't have that captive time frame for grilling them, I never knew what happened during their busy day! I am not kidding, asking one of my children what happened during their day once they got home was never the same as catching them during their first 20 minutes post school. They seemed to have sudden onset amnesia once they got in the house. Probably because I too was asking the same things more than once. I was blessed to be able to do it. I realize that you are probably not always going to have that opportunity, but, it sounds as if you are honing your skills pretty well. :) Did I mention that high school and driving comes so fast that you can't care if they get disgusted with you prior to finding their freedom, dog them anyway! loved this story.
