visit to the barber
not a peep... not a cry... he even let Joe spray water on his head.
I told Joe, "You've performed a miracle."
Joe said, "Actually, I think he's probably just grown up."
I didn't mention to him that I almost cried five times watching him cut Gus' hair... every time I expected Gus to cry, and didn't, I would start laughing with such joy that my eyes would well up. I guess I was expecting the Gus of six months ago, or even a year ago, to cry, but the Gus of today... wow.
