Baby D's friend, Evelyn

Oh my...what a beautiful, beautiful little girl. Meet Evelyn Rose, Seth and Monica's new daughter. She was born on September 25th, my Grandma Valera's birthday. It was so fitting. Monica was due on the 28th, pretty much three months before us. We've been watching them through this, taking internal notes, learning what we need to do/know before Baby D's arrival.

See Evelyn for yourself!

Shortly after they left, Ken called and had Grandma Valera get on the phone. It was such a wonderful treat to hear her voice and to talk to her. It makes me cry every time. I miss her so much. We were three days from visiting her when we found out I needed to be on bedrest. That was the thing that hurt the most, not being able to visit her. I was able to tell her that we were having a baby and she seemed to have some lucid moments during that part of the conversation.

Melissa came after that... (a wonderfully social Sunday for us!) So nice to have face-to-face conversation with her. They just bought a puppy today, Ruby. So fun.

It was so nice to read about your day yesterday. Just wanted you to know that you made Ken's day so much better after talking with Grandma. He said that she wasn't really focused and she was making very little sense and didn't really interact with him until he was able to get you on the phone and she heard your voice. He said it was litterally like a light behind her eyes and she brightened up and was expressing happiness that he hasn't really seen for a whle. He was so pleased that she was able to hear your voice and chat with you on the phone. He felt certain that she knew exactly who you were and her face showed it! Thanks for being there. I know that our "same old sweet Grandma" is in there and it was lovely to know that you were able to reach her. Just wanted you to know. I love the crib, however, I would like to know where the picture of Ruby is? I would love to see the picture of Baby D, maybe sometime soon. take care, love you, Deb
