Week 17: Ultrasound!
The day before John's birthday we went to the University of Illinois medical center for an ultrasound. Apparently UIC had equipment that West Suburban Hopsital did not, and we were also scheduled to have a fetal echocardiogram test to check out baby's heart. While we had to reschedule the echo eventually, we were able to see Baby D this day...and know that he is a he! John and the doctor saw the evidence, but I missed it. I just had to trust it was true!

The best part of the session came about when we were trying to get the baby to stay still for at least one face shot. Every time we would get close, he would flip all around. Not cooperative. Finally, I tapped on my belly and said, "HELLO??" and suddenly we saw a sole hand on the screen, waving back and forth. We all just went wild, it was such a crazy occurance. See his hand?
